Join Our Public Policy Series

Have you experienced homelessness?

Would you like to learn more about advocacy and public policy?

The Homes for Families Public Policy Series offers parents who have experienced homelessness the opportunity to get together in small groups to learn about public policy issues, identify their interests and skills, and to begin to take part in advocacy. We offer an environment where it is safe and comfortable to ask questions and learn. Up to twelve parents are selected to take part in a series of six sessions, offered twice per year, over several months. Participants receive a stipend to attend each session along with dinner. Sessions are led by someone who has experienced homelessness.

As part of the public policy series, if you would like to learn more about our organization while getting some on-the-job experience, we encourage you to get involved. Volunteers help with office tasks and special advocacy projects. They also receive a stipend to help cover their expenses.

To find out more, contact Rachel Heller at Homes for Families: 617-227-4188, rheller@homesforfamilies.org.
