Support Consumer Involvement

Homes for Families believes that the voices of families are a vital piece of any advocacy effort. We consider families to be the experts on homelessness and empowering their voices is one of our highest priorities. HFF advocates for the inclusion of their perspectives and opinions in all levels of the homeless support system. To this end, we offer support, training and advocacy opportunities to families and providers in the following ways:

  • Public Policy Training
  • Public Speaking Training
  • Educating Families about Current Events
  • Avoiding Tokenism
  • Consumer Advisory Boards
  • Focus Groups
  • State House/Legislative Visits
  • Legislative Breakfasts
  • Organizational Consumer Involvement Assessments
