Action AlertsDuring both budget and legislative sessions, you will receive information and advocacy alerts asking you to take particular actions(s) - in an effort to create and preserve housing that is affordable to extremely low-income families in Massachusetts. Sign up to receive action alert emails from Homes for Families.
Step #1: Open and read email containing description of action alert, phone script and link to quick follow-up survey. Step #2: If you have any questions, contact Diane Sullivan at dsullivan@homesforfamilies.org or Jeff Naylor at jnaylor@homesforfamilies.org; telephone – 617.227.4188. Step #3: Go to www.wheredoivotema.com in order to find your state legislator’s phone number. Some alerts may ask everyone to contact a specific person. In this case the contact info will be included in the action alert. Step #4: Using the phone/email/letter script, contact the correct person and discuss the information in the script with them. If you feel comfortable conveying the information without the phone script, you do not need to use it. Legislators are frequently busy. Speaking with one of their staff members who will pass the information onto the legislator is a good alternative. Step #5: Open the follow-up survey link located at the bottom of the action alert email. Please complete this step as the information in the survey is important for our advocacy and strategic efforts. Step #6: Forward the action alert to your contacts who are invested in ending family homelessness.
